Many people wonder what they should pack for detox and treatment at our inpatient facility, as packing properly will help bring ease to the detox and recovery process. We’ve put together some important notes for packing up to visit our facility below.
For patients in our treatment and detox programs in Boca, it’s important to dress for comfort above all else. Make sure you bring comfortable clothing. It’s important to be comfortable when undergoing therapy or working through opiate detox programs. Do make sure that the clothing you’re bringing with you is not suggestive. It’s also important to ensure that your clothing does not contain offensive messages, such as prints with foul language.
Additional comfortable items include ones that are emotionally reassuring, such as photos of friends, family, and loved ones. Bring photos of those that you’re thinking of and the ones supporting you through your recovery. You may also consider packing a favorite stuffed animal or blanket to have a memento of home during your recovery.
There are some items which are not allowed within our facility, such as drugs and drug paraphernalia. Other items such as mouthwash, which contains alcohol, are not allowed. If you’re unsure whether or not an item is approved, contact us directly to ask an admission professional. We will be happy to let you know more about which items are restricted in our facility.
There can be a considerable amount of downtime during Boca drug treatment, whether it’s between meetings or in the evenings. This down time can help you work more towards your sobriety. Many patients choose to bring approved self-help books to our detox programs in Boca, as these books can reinforce quality lessons in recovery. You can also bring a journal with some pens, so you can begin journaling during your Boca drug treatment.
